You can now also choose which camera do you want to use — front or back. Another option is the tap to shoot which is a nice feature from the camera app of Windows Phone. For post-processing, you can now add caption, crop, and change the type of the scan. Overall, the app which is already an excellent one for Windows Phone, now better than ever. It also supports HoloLens which is interesting. If you already have the Windows Phone app, an update should be available. Just head to the Windows Store or click the link below.

Office Lens trims, enhances, and makes pictures of whiteboards and docs readable. Office Lens is like having a scanner in your pocket.

Like magic, it will digitize notes from whiteboards or blackboards. Always find important documents or business cards. Sketch your ideas and snap a picture for later. Windows Latest. How to download and install the Windows 10 May Update. Windows 10 May Update new features: What you need to….

Windows 10 May Update is now rolling out. Developer brings x64 desktop apps to Microsoft Lumia XL. Dev enables cellular support in Windows 10 21H1 running on phones. Microsoft quietly extends support for Windows 10 Mobile.

Sorry this didn't help. Thanks for your feedback. We use this app very frequently on our Surface Pro 7s. I think the essence of the "answer" is: no. Hence the instruction in the support article to use "your iOS or Android mobile". The whole point of using Office Lens with windows 10 is to capture high quality documents via a stable desktop camera NOT a mobile,. I don't understand why Microsoft would withdraw Office Lens from the Windows 10 if it's continuing to support the mobile versions.

It sounds like document cameras will no longer be supported in Windows What a retrograde step that is! I can't find that option on my copy of Camera. I run it on a PC so is it possible it's only available on Surface devices? Probably not as promising as it seems.

Confusingly there appear to be two different functions:. Despite some online news coverage implying the contrary, it seems these modes are only available on some devices, and I can find no list of what devices or what the requirements are - the store listing says p, but I got that and no dice.

It also says it is "powered by Office Lens", and as we know, Office Lens is going away, so this feature may be going away too. Once you have taken the photo in camera app at least on the version I have on my PC if you go into image view, still in the camera app, there is a filters dropdown at the top which has " document" and "whiteboard" options. Now, usually with Office Lens I move the camera around until the white lines show it has correctly got the page, obviously if you have to take the picture first you can't do that, so inevitably results will be worse or unusable.

Notably in neither case although I can't test the first one I have looked at videos of it in operation does there appear to be functionality to capture multiple pages in one document, save as PDF or save into OneNote - so basically all the things I actually use Office Lens for.

So the search for a replacement for Office Lens on Windows continues. It's not going very well - some of the suggested alternatives are actually Android apps used by running an Android emulator on Windows My copy of the application does not have any new camera modes.

After taking a picture and opening it does offer the options of applying filters, Photo, Whiteboard or Document but that's all they are, filters that accentuate the images in ways that are thought to be suitable for each of the options.

This appears part of the Photos application. I'll need to do more testing to see how this works. Choose where you want to search below Search Search the Community. The suggestion on the page is: "To continue to enjoy all Office Lens features, we recommend downloading and using the latest version of Office Lens for iOS or Office Lens for Android" Thoroughly confused by this - how is the iOS or Android version going to run on Windows laptop or tablet or Surfaces , what is the path to continue enjoying Office Lens features on these devices?

I have the same question Report abuse. Details required :. Cancel Submit. Previous Next. Hi, Thanks for using Microsoft products and posting in the community, I'm glad to offer help. Best Regards, Arck. How satisfied are you with this reply?

Thanks for your feedback, it helps us improve the site. Thank you. In reply to carriephilbrick's post on October 6,
